Dragon Boat Festival, one of the 4 top traditional Chinese festivals, is called DuanWu Jie in Mandarin. It falls on 5th day of 5th lunar month, which is Jun 3 in 2022.
From June 3th -5th, all ARDEN Lighting people will have a 3 days holiday.
During Dragon Boat Festival, main activities are eating zongzi and boat races. ARDEN Lighting didn’t organize activities to celebrate this year. But the company prepared a gift package as welfare for every employee including workers.

This year’s Dragon Boat Festival shows more significance on treasuring health and peace. Just before the festival many Chinese cities, especially Shanghai, lockdown has been lifted, and citizens celebrate “new start” after COVID restrictions eased. Public transportation will resume, and residents will no longer need passes to travel to go outside for a few hours. For those people, the festival means more of hope and freedom.
As a company in Shenzhen, we can feel what they feel. The whole city experienced 1 week lockdown in February. Our two colleagues were even quarantined in hotel for 15days. Well organized supplies are provided, but it is a really tough time for them. The lockdown lift in Shanghai implies initial victory has been achieved in the fight against the worst wave of COVID-19 epidemic across China. We need to cherish and protect it.
